Helpful and timely feedback
3.1.7 Give helpful and timely oral and written feedback to students.
Well done!
This was indeed a challenge. Coming from a positive behaviour encouragment viewpoint it was not always easy for me to stop and 'add value' to a students work without much thought. Over prac days becoming proficient at praising a particular element of student effort was the focus. Rather than saying: "Great work" this had evolved to "I really like how you slanted your letters forward, keep that up" to "I can see you have put alot of work into this, how do you feel about your work?" This final phase was attempting to turn the rewards to become intrinsic rather than extrinsic.
