My journey....
Every journey is exciting!
When I was 23yrs old, studying at University of Western Sydney in the school of nursing, a lecturer from the faculty of education gave a short talk before one of our lectures.
It was an invitation to leave nursing and join teaching and have all our previous studies credited towards teaching. I had always wanted to be a teacher, but, after discussing this with my father, stayed in nursing. 24 years later, I have embarked on my teacher training. Finally a chance to fullfil my early ambitions of becoming a teacher.
Starting studies at Charles Darwin university, leveraging my years of nursing, I am enrolled in the Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning as an external student. This relatively short course of 1 year professes to churn out graduates with a readiness to teach.
This here are my experiences, resources, reflections and most importantly, my teaching philosophy for my use and hopefully to inspire and enlighten others. Just like my family's journey bush walking through Booti Booti National park, this journey is exciting, inspiring and a 'breath of fresh air'.

I would like to thank the following people whom without, I would never been able to get through not only this course, but my mother's illness and death, a personal health scare, another debilitating illness and now, my dear father's failing health.
My husband - whom has taken on extra load of the work at home, and having to give up multiple weekends whilst I study.
My two beautiful girls - whom had had to put up with 'teacher mummy' who experimented on them with lessons (although they loved this!), gave up two years of family weekends, having mummy at school and having to grow up very fast during the tumultous time as outlined above.
My mentor teachers - you have both given me the best start to teaching that I could have ever had. Thank you. My second mentor teacher has changed me so that I am better teacher, person and mum...... Thank you for having such a positive impact on all areas of my life. You are truly the most wonderful teacher and person I have EVER met.
My lecturers at uni - brilliant! The word that comes to mind when I think of them all. Particularly our placement coordinator and lecturer whom was always there. She not only imparts the knowledge you need but is sensitive to the individual needs of all students - setting a fine example. I thank her in her patience and understanding of my situation.
My boss at work (nursing) whom is an absolute angel. Words cannot express what I want to say - but, if ever I could thank her enough for her support with mum, my dad and uni, it would take me centuries. She herself is now going through a period of life that will be difficult. May she be surrounded by gentle supportive friends.
Thank you all - from a very humble me.
